Painted in Provincetown, MA, October 27, 28, 29, 30, November 2 "fini" (journal). Memo for October refers to it as a composition of Sheldrake Tennis Court, (journal). To HDB, May 18, 1961; ". . . oil, green, girl with players back of her, quite bright in color, the court marked out, a tennis ball . . . " To HDB, January 29, 1965; ". . . a girl on a tennis court. A big blonde with skirts above her knees & a carefully painted little ball on the court, the net, trees & shaddows [sic]. She's walking toward the observer but I guess I forgot to give her a racquet -."Provenance
