Notes

Painted in Wellfleet, MA, September 3, 4 (journal). Janice, a life long friend, sister of Jack Tworkov, her husband Ford Madox Ford died in 1939, and she visited the Dickinsons August 29 to September 11 (journal). She was later the wife of Daniel Brustlein (the artist Alain). She paints under the name "Biala," the name of the town in Poland where she grew up.
