Drawn in Provincetown, MA, September 2 (journal), of home of the late Charles Webster and Marion Campbell Hawthorne. J.C. Hawthorne was their son and his daughter, Caro, was named for Caroline "Caro" Campbell, daughter of Marion Hawthorne's brother Harry Campbell. The "exchange" of the inscription may be a gift by J.C. Hawthorne to ED of a C.W. Hawthorne painting. Fig. #, is photograph of the Hawthorne House as it appeared on a postcard in 1912. The open porches on each side are now closed in.
