Painted in Paris, France when RWJ a lieutenant in the French Foreign Legion. Later he was an anatomist at The Art Students League and died in 1953. ED drawing, NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY, 1994, was drawn from Johnson's studio. Painting known from letters to Tibi.
