Notes

Painted in Provincetown, MA, November 22, 23, 24 (journal). To EHS, November 27, 1929, "It was painted for the occasion on the top of a house (hence the position half way up the church) in low temperature last week," and sent to EHS. The Center Methodist Episcopal Church was the largest church on Cape Cod. When built in 1860 it was thought to be the largest Methodist church in America. It is frequently painted by Provincetown artists. It became the Chrysler Art Museum in 1958, and in 1976 was established as the Provincetown Heritage Museum.
