Notes: Painted in Wellfleet, MA, from a postcard, July 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, August, 2, 3, 4, 14, 15 (journal), from a postcard. ED again painted on "Alain's 'Cap Fréhel'", in 1945 (journal). Cap Fréhel, 60 meters high, is on the Brittany coast and he visited it August 28, 1938, (journal). To AWS, January 12, 1939, he recalls the previous September 21st when in the evening he "took a walk, as I wanted to see the great Cap Fréhel [sic] Light blinking."
