Painted in Wellfleet, MA; November 21, Carol at studio, "shall do a portrait of her for $150=." On 23rd stretched a 26/22 for it, began painting 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, December 1, 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 29, January 22, 23, (journal) Painting was commissioned by the sitter's husband, Benjamin Wolf, but was left unfinished because Carol was away a great deal and lost interest in it.
